Discuss: Tesla Now Lets You Pick the Battery Supplier in the Model 3 and Model Y Long Range Models

THIS is gonna be confusing for a while. When I looked at the cars that didn't qualify they were all the previous gen Model 3s, not the refresh. 333 mile rated cars. If you're road tripping and value 10 or more minutes at each stop this matters more. Actually, I'd be interested in what the time...

Discuss: Rivian and Volkswagen to Create Joint Venture as VW Invests $5 Billion in Rivian -- Stock Soars

Nice. I see a few Rivians around here. Hope this works out for both of them, congrats to the new couple :) .

Discuss: Tesla in Talks With Michelin To Test New Airless Tires

Yes, what limitations could they mean? Regardless, airless tires will be welcome with open arms once available! Seems like there is a wheel requirement for them, perhaps it is integrated to the tire? If they do last 3x as long I suspect the’ll cost 2x as much. At least.

Discuss: Tesla Model 3 Long Range Now Eligible for $7.5K Tax Credit

This combined with FSD transfer is tempting but the interest rate for the LR at 60 months is a little steep. Still, good to see this news!

    Tesla software update v12(2024.14.9)

Nice. FSD just recognized a gap left by traffic stacked up in two oncoming lanes and turned left through it, very ‘human’ like in a good way. Can’t wait to see what 12.4.5 or .6 does when we get it. Let that .1 and .2 crap get sorted out by the OG beta testers.

    Tesla software update v12(2024.14.9)

Thanks for the update! I wonder if the 14.9 build is a necessary prerequisite before the 20.1 update… whatever it takes to get to 12.4 :)

Discuss: Tesla Deploys Two Optimus Robots in Factory

Cool. I'm sure moving eggs around comes in handy at the factory :P . These things will eventually take a lot of jobs.

High Fidelity only when doing Autopark

Do you have ultra sonic sensors? I think you have to switch to Tesla Vision somewhere if you do. If you see estimations of distance then I think that means you have the USS. Wouldn’t have thought a 2023 still had them but that would explain it.

High Fidelity only when doing Autopark

I am not sure but I think the hi fidelity thing starts at < 9MPH or maybe less. I think. I have pulled into angled parking spots (straight in) and it draws the lines pretty well 2024 Y LR. I just got 14.9 but it was this way on the last build too.

    Tesla software update v12(2024.14.9)

We just got this update on a 2024 Y LR and a 2018 3 LR. I still have all those options, did you get this sorted out? I wonder if you can force the car to re-download it?

    Discuss: 2024.20.1 Release Notes (Updated)

Good question on the headlights, I thought the EU had more modern rules about headlights and they were already active there!

Discuss: Musk Says Tesla is Not Releasing New Model Y, 'Project Juniper', This Year

I gotta say, I traded my 2020 LR Sept build model Y in for a 2024 LR feb build and it is a little better in so many ways. Quieter, ride feels 'better' (could be in my head), and newer MCU. The new one has better fit & finish but my 2020 was pretty good already. The consumption is down a bit as...

Discuss: 2024.15.5 (FSD Supervised v12.4.1) Release Notes

Sure hope so. I am sure there are reasons for why the builds are so fragmented at the moment. One ring, er, build to rule them all please.

Thanks for the update. I guess I’m antsy, fingers crossed for this weekend!

How likely do we think it is that FSD 12.4 will fix the auto speed offset issues?

Speaking of 12.4- what's up with it? Electrek has a report that's its crazy bad but that's by one person. The silence on that build is strange. Perhaps Tesla wants to get 12.4 into the latest 2024.20 build or whatever. I'm over 12.3.6 personally, bring something new on please :)

Discuss: 2024.20 Official Tesla Release Notes

Not sure exactly what you're asking KITT but I learned a long time ago (AP1 days) that if you're gonna accelerate to pass or whatever, best to take the car out of AP or FSD because that's exactly what would happen. I was put in AP jail for going over 90 MPH (IIRC) while passing with cruise...

Discuss: 2024.9.5 (FSD Supervised v12.4) Release Notes

I think so. If you look at your phone, the screen or even my apple watch it is quick to require a steering wheel tug. Only while the car is moving. That's my impression at this point.
