Discuss: Tesla 'Spring Update' Update Adds Ability to View Cabin Filter Health

This is really cool. I wonder if will work for "legacy" vehicles. It would be nice to see if my filter needs replacing before tearing open my frunk. 😃

Discuss: Why You May Still be on Tesla Update 2024.8.9 or 2024.3.25 and What to Expect

I'm still running 2024.3.15 but it looks like 2024.14.8 is approaching 25% rollout so that gives me hope. :D

    Software update wishlist

Change default TXT message default to "Send message" on X and S. Sending a text message using the voice commands works pretty well. My problem is that after I compose the message the default choice is to re-record the message. The number of times I choose to re-record the message is minuscule...

Discuss: Tesla Expected to Add New 3D Baidu Maps in China This Month

Tesla is really fighting hard for the Chinese; there is so much competition. BYD is a monster and I'm not sure that you can win against them, at least in their home turf. Are any other car makers even trying?

Discuss: Tesla Is Removing Steam Gaming in New Model S and Model X Vehicles

I think I get it though. I doubt that Steam was used all that much and as a computer programmer I understand keeping the code small.

Discuss: Tesla Intel Vehicles Receive Some of the Visual Updates in Spring Update 2024.14

I was thinking about this the other day and was beginning to get upset. Then I remembered that Tesla was the first (and only?) auto manufacturer to offer extensive OTA updates. Sure, some other companies correct some bugs or something but nobody pushes out the kind of updates that Tesla does...

Discuss: Tesla Releases FSD v12.4: New Vision Attention Monitoring, Improved Strike System With Update 2024.9.5

Well, it looks like being behind the times is paying off again. The article mentions that 12.4 will only roll out to those running a 2024.3.x release. I'm currently rocking 2024.3.15 so I'll be on the lookout for my firmware update any minute now.... any minute ...

Discuss: 2024.9.5 (FSD Supervised v12.4) Release Notes

Ah, one good thing about having a "legacy" vehicle is that there are no cabin cameras so it doesn't know that I'm looking at my phone, or watch, or whatever. :D

Discuss: 2024.9.5 (FSD Supervised v12.4) Release Notes

i just noticed this in the AutoPilot description: "Use of any hand-held devices while using Autopilot is not allowed." Has this been the case the entire time? I theoretically use AP time to check my phone or send a short text message. Is this "illegal"?

Discuss: Tesla Updates App to v4.33, References New Summon V2, Displays FSD Version and More

I also noted that the status of my car is now "Car has been asleep for 40 minutes" instead of "Last activity 40 minutes ago" (or something like that). Neat.

    Frustrating wiper controls.

Ok, I've noticed that the auto wipers on my 2020 MX seem to be doing pretty well under 2024.3.15. I don't want to jinx it or anything but we've had a bit of rain and they seem to be keeping the windscreen clear. They even activated the other day while backing out of the driveway and kinda...

Discuss: Rivian to Add Google Cast and Native YouTube App, Will Tesla Respond?

No, they won't respond. As the owner of a "legacy" vehicle I would welcome more native apps but I don't think Tesla will ever allow CarPlay or Android Auto anywhere near their vehicles.

Discuss: Tesla Updates App to v4.33, References New Summon V2, Displays FSD Version and More

Yeah! My car's name is now all on one line. 🎉 I have "old man mode" enabled on my iPhone (ie. super large fonts) and the name of my car was so long that it used to take up two lines. With this new app update they must have removed something from the header or made more room somehow, because...

Discuss: 2024.14.5 Official Tesla Release Notes

Well, it looks like the 2024.3.25 update is slowing down; just 33 cars got updated yesterday. I guess I'll have to wait until 2024.3.26 for my update. 😄

    No V12

No one knows how updates are scheduled. There is no secret to getting your car to update. You just have to wait. :(

Discuss: An In-Depth Look at Tesla's New Music Player in Update 2024.14 [Photos & Video]

I really like the addition of the larger play progress bar and the addition of the "ball". Too many times I've wanted to skip ahead or back on a song and just have to kinda guess where the playhead is.

Discuss: Musk Shares What to Expect in FSD v12.4 Next Week; Talks About Abilities of FSD v12.5 and v12.6

I'm looking forward to the better acceleration / braking behaviour. Currently, when in stop-and-go traffic the car seems to speed up quickly and then brake just as quickly a few meters later. I would much rather it feather the throttle a bit and not race to see who can stop the quickest.

Discuss: Cybertruck Receives 9 Exclusive Features in Tesla Update 2024.14.3 as Tesla Shares Off-Road Guide [Video]

I saw a video the other day where the CT frunk was chopping vegetables in half because it closed so forcibly. After they applied this update they retested it and the vegetables fared much better; only the tip of the carrot was chopped off this time. :D

Discuss: Tesla Hints at Support for Amazon Music Streaming in Update 2024.14.3

I think more options are better than fewer options. I have Amazon Prime but do not use Amazon Music in any appreciable way. Maybe if Tesla makes it available in my car then I will give it a shot. I'm getting tired of sharing my Spotify account between my computer and my car anyway. This...

Discuss: Tesla Lays Off Entire Supercharger Team as Musk Talks About the Future of Superchargers

@K.I.T.T. I agree with almost everything you said. I believe that a reliable charging network is crucial to the adoption of BEVs and Tesla, so far, has been the only player that could make that happen. If they lapse now and let others take up the mantle of providing the charging...
