Discuss: Tesla Confirms They're Working on Wireless, Inductive Home Charging

I don't think I would like to use wireless charging but it might come in handy for someone like my wife who just doesn't want to deal with plugging and un-plugging things. Plus, she doesn't drive a ton so it wouldn't really matter if it was a bit slower. Hopefully it's not to inefficient...

Discuss: Tesla Removes Disney+ App From Vehicles - Here's How to Get It Back

I confirmed that I still have the Disney+ app on my 2020 MX so this doesn't really affect me. NOTE: While testing the feature I did notice that the playback was not especially smooth. This, in combination with my YouTube playback troubles, makes me think that the MCU2 in the legacy vehicles...

Discuss: Tesla Removes Disney+ App From Vehicles - Here's How to Get It Back

Ok, the decision to remove an app because a CEO is feuding with another CEO is petty and ridiculous. I've been ignoring Musk's antics for the most part but this goes a bit too far, IMHO. I don't want my car's functionality to be impacted by some advertiser somewhere making a decision Musk...

Discuss: Tesla Explains Why the Tesla App Wants Access to 'Motion & Fitness Activity'

This actually sounds like a reasonable thing. My understanding is that thieves can/do use a relay attack to steal cars. If your phone knows that you are not moving around and so can not be approaching the car, then it can shut down those attacks. However, there is a privacy concern with...

Discuss: 2023.44.30 (OTA Recall and FSD Beta 11.4.9) Release Notes

It's things like this that seem simple but take ages to come to fruition (if at all) that make me think the Tesla infotainment code is pretty harry. Either that or getting some sort of regulatory approval for each update is monstrous so they only include the minimum features for that particular...

Discuss: First Look at Tesla's New High Fidelity Park Assist [Video]

Yes, I'm increasingly concerned with the "older" computer in my 2020 X. It's actually become a pretty big worry, much more so than range anxiety or charging speed. Will a 4 year old car get left behind? I don't expect the full capabilities of the new v4 systems (new games, more cameras, etc.)...

    Missing heated steering wheel icon

Nope, my 2020 MX (2023.27.7) seems to show it just fine.

Discuss: Tesla FSD v12 Rolls Out to Employees With Update 2023.38.10

WooHoo!! Maybe us 11.4.7 folks will finally get caught up with the rest of you lot. :)

Discuss: Tesla's Supercharger Congestion Fees: More Details in Updated Owner's Manual

I just hope this information makes it to the legacy cars. I love my 2020 MX but it's getting more and more frustrating to see these types of features not make it to the platform. Games and other things that rely on new hardware is understandable; Supercharging info is not.

Discuss: Tesla Attempts To Shorten Cybertruck Wait List; Will Prevent Resales for One Year

I think other auto manufacturers also do something similar, right? It's my understanding that you can't purchase certain Ferrari's unless you satisfy certain parameters.

11.4.4 wins again. 🎡 11.4.7 left behind.

Discuss: Tesla Update 2023.38 Will Predict Supercharger Availability and Wait Times

Agreed! I was really hoping that Ford would be able to rise to the occasion but it looks like they are really struggling with EVs. It seemed like an electric F150 would be a slam dunk but they just haven't been able to pull it off. My bet is that a new onslaught of Asian (Chinese, Korean...

Discuss: Tesla Update 2023.38 Will Predict Supercharger Availability and Wait Times

This is one of the things that other charger infrastructure companies can't (or won't) do. It really is a fundamental thing to be able to predict usage and re-route people to less busy locations - or at least warn them that there will be a wait. The downside of this is it will become more...

Discuss: Buying a New Tesla? The EV Tax Credit Will Soon Come Off at Time of Purchase

I love the fact that you get the discount at time of purchase! And it applies to used vehicles as well! I'm much more leery of the fact that the discount goes to the dealer, whom passes it on to you. My understanding is that the dealer has to provide "transparency" to the whole...

Discuss: Tesla Creates Official APIs for Third-Party Services; To Start Charging for Usage

I'm looking forward to an official 3rd party API from Tesla. I''m not looking forward to it being a profit base for Tesla. Then again, it might be that you have to pay for high volume transactions and individual owners have free / unrestricted access. That would be the best outcome.

Discuss: A Look at Tesla's First V4 Superchargers in the U.S.

We absolutely need slower chargers at retail locations! In fact, I can see these slower chargers being installed everywhere and traditional "gas stations" being closed or repurposed. Just because we've had corner gas stations for the past 100 years doesn't mean they will continue to be a...

Discuss: New Tesla Cybertruck Details Emerge: Bi-Directional Charging, Powered Frunk and More

I think bi-directional charging would be an awesome thing to have. It really is the future and lots of other companies are doing it. I would really love to power my home in an emergency but there are other uses as well. A neighborhood power sharing plan would be great as well. As a side...

As a Tesla owner, I get frustrated that other car makers can't seem to get the basic things right.

I'm seeing all these EV announcements from other auto makers and I can't believe how many things they are getting wrong. It's like CEO's have never even driven a Tesla before! We've been a Honda family for a long time and have been very satisfied. In fact, my wife has a 2008 Accord that is...

Discuss: Tesla Starts Public Release of FSD Beta 11.4.7.1 With Over 50 New Features

Hopefully this is progress to being on a single stack. My car won't get a whole bunch of new things from this update but it might make the version numbers a bit less confusing. 🤞
