Am I understanding correctly that the SAME functionality is currently available in the MyQ app? That would really undermine charging for having it in the car. I don't use the MyQ app as we have HomeLink on both cars.

FWIW proximity and things like low power mode matter. Some have had luck with their phones being closer to the car, low power mode gets me sometimes. Just waking my phone up seems to fix that. Maybe that’ll help.
