Discuss: Tesla Says 12V Power Socket Access Will Not Return

Did anyone try Summon Standby to be active? For me this keeps the 12v active when I leave the car. Doors lock, just like sentry. Of course you need FSD active but if you have it, it should work.

    Legacy HW3 to HW4 Upgrade (AI3 to AI4)

I think it depends on the requirements of the software, if the cameras will need to be upgraded. Swapping out the cameras isn't that big a deal though the current setup for hw3 uses 8 and hw4 is 12 i believe, so they would need to design retrofits, and of course the current hw4 design would need...

Discuss: Tesla Disables 12V Power Sockets and USB Ports While Sentry Mode is Active in Update 2024.32

Agreed. But I was also saying it doesn’t seem this change affected everyone. My Model S still has the 12v on with Sentry mode.

Discuss: Tesla Disables 12V Power Sockets and USB Ports While Sentry Mode is Active in Update 2024.32

Is this the case on all Tesla modes? I have a Legacy Model S and my 12v is still on with sentry in the latest update 2024.32.10. Honestly they should just have an option for this instead of just turning it on or off for everyone. If it’s a way to save battery when sentry is on then fine, but...

    Software update wishlist

Connect other apps like Slack it would be great if we could see push notifications like we do with CarPlay. People will stop asking for CarPlay if you add some of its features. Whenever I look at consumer reports on any Tesla the “con” is always No CarPlay.

    Software update wishlist

The browser should have memory, or allow for multitasking. I put the car in reverse and the backup camera shows. Then back into drive and the browser is gone. I click on it again and it loads like loading for the first time.

Discuss: Legacy Tesla Model S and Model X to Receive Actually Smart Summon and Potentially Sentry Mode Live Access

The issue with your comparison to Toyota or Chevy is that Tesla is a technology company first, so they are driven by their software, not their hardware, hence the FSD. A more accurate comparison would be comparing Tesla to Apple. Apple just released iOS 18, which they didn't just make available...

Discuss: Legacy Tesla Model S and Model X to Receive Actually Smart Summon and Potentially Sentry Mode Live Access

I think they haven’t touched the map screen at all on these cars, which weather and map updates would function on. So far it has been a choice by Tesla to prioritize the new cars over the older ones from the second the refresh came out. Since then, no update to that car came out later on to the...

Discuss: Legacy Tesla Model S and Model X to Receive Actually Smart Summon and Potentially Sentry Mode Live Access

This is tremendous news! Legacy S & X owners really haven't had much to write home about with almost every update post 2020 only going to New S and X... but also EVERY Model 3 and Y.. even Model 3 2018. As a 2018 Model S owner, it has been very frustrating, especially given these were luxury...

Manually turning on/off USB Type-C ports and 12V sockets

Do you know what update version you have that made this change? I do think there should be a UI option for this also. I’d personally prefer them off if sentry was enabled since I plug lights into the 12v and they stay on with Sentry which is a bit weird. They should stay on with keep camp or dog...
