This got me excited to add the wall connector to my app. The hardest part was finding the quick start guide with the QR code buried in my house. Once I had that it went very smoothly, also updated the firmware on my wall connector in the process. I think if I was unable to locate the QR code on the quick start guide I would have been SOL so make sure you have that info somewhere!

Yes, the code is also inside the wall connector, but that's a bit of a pain. Not sure why Tesla didn't just post it on the side of the unit.

The SSID and IP address of the Wall Connector is pretty easy to find but the password is not. However, the side of Wall Connector has a sticker with the serial number and part number and with both of those numbers you can contact Tesla support to have them send you the password.

Or at least you're supposed to be able to get the password from support. I took a picture of my Wall Connector and sent the information to Tesla support over the weekend to see if I could get the password. No response yet, but it's only been a short time so 🤷‍♂️

I suspect it is hidden away so that no one can hijack a wall connector set out for public use, like at a place or work or B&B or something.

Strangely Tesla linked the main app to the wall connector over a year ago here in the UK- I think it may have been to make the gen3 Wall Connector comply better with our UK wiring regs. I've been using the Connector page of the app to control charging times instead of the actual car section. I think the randomisation option is there for UK grid requirements?

I think I will like setting the charging time on the wall connector instead of in the car. It seems much more straightforward and should work with any number of cars you plug into the connector, not just the car you configure manually. (y)
