I wonder how this will affect those vehicles without cabin cameras. Will they not get the OTA update? Will Tesla tweak the current seat belt sensors for those legacy vehicles? Does this "recall" not affect older vehicles?
I guess vehicle affected by the real issue without camera should be due for a real recall this time.
However, the whole seatbelt thing is getting out of hand. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate educating backseat passenger to the dangers of a collision (backseat passengers could literally kill the front seat occupants).
While most cars would beep for few seconds before giving up, Teslas would drive you crazy in a matter of minutes.
On Highlands, though, until the driver has the seatbelt fastened, the car would not "turn on", not to mention selecting D/R. On previous models the car would turn on just by sending the driver and pressing the pedal, while you had the time to engage D/R and at the same time fasten the seatbelt.
Moments like getting out of the car and in for opening a manual garage door, getting unnecessarily frustrating...
