Am I the only one what would pay such amount... not for added acceleration, but to increase the range by depowering the already exaggerated performance of the dual motor LR in chill?

That's a good idea, although I wonder if there isn't a huge increase in efficiency at lower power or if Tesla just doesn't want to have slow cars. This sounds similar to the Range Mode offered in legacy S/X models.

I bet it's more the second factor, because the car warns about having to slow down at certain speeds if there's a risk not to complete the route and stops at SuperChargers are rejected. Regardless of the speed, sure doesn't help (and it's not required) having the instant torque and acceleration of a Lambo at all times, considering that in chill we are likely having already 250HP with the torque of a much higher rated combustion engine.

Selling such a "range upgrade" (not to be seen as a "performance downgrade") should not be considered negative, if it meets consumer needs.
