While I'm disappointed in another feature that legacy models won't receive, there is a spot of bright news in this article. Our cars might not be completely obsolete yet. There's a chance that we could get some more new features (ie. A.S.S.) so that's good.

Offline commands do not work with my Model Y LR (2023) in the way described. The vehicle is woken up immediately when I open the boot via the app, for example.
I am standing at a Bluetooth distance from the vehicle. The software is on 4.38 and 2024.38.6.

I think this is intended. Whenever receiving a command, it wakes up regardless if the command was received via bluetooth or internet. It just executes the commands faster via bluetooth, while on Internet it first has to wake up to process the command i guess.

And potentially Sentry Mode Live Access, which isn't available for the same underlying reason -- camera streaming.

Correct, the vehicle will still wake up, but now it will perform the command quicker instead of needing to wait for the vehicle to wake first.
