What about all the people (like myself) on 2024.8 versions? That's about 35% currently, are you saying we can't get the free month?

If you're on 2024.8 and in the US or Canada, then it'll require waiting until Tesla updates FSD v12 to that branch as Tesla doesn't allow vehicles to roll back in firmware.

I think I have some new info for you. As I said I have 2024.8.7. I had previously subscribed back in 2023 for a few months to fsd. I tried today to subscribe again to see if I would get v12 and a free month.
As you said on your reply, I did not get v12, BUT I did get a free month of v11.4.9. I got it today, they did not charge me and tesla says they will charge me on May 2nd.
Hopefully, they'll push v12 to me before the month is up.... on the meantime I'm driving on v11.4.9... which is still really good

I have a 2021 RWD Y and I have looked everywhere to see how I can get 1 Month of FSD. I cant find anything except Tesla might send a E mail out. But this post says if I just loaded the latests software v 2024.8.7 that I might buy $.. v 11.4.9 ? or my Firmware is to New? Still Confused, maybe because I am 80 and it takes me longer to find things. Thank you

If you're on 2024.8.7, you won't be eligible to receive FSD v12 until it's on a 2024.8.x branch. Even if you're able to get a trial of FSD v11, I'd recommend waiting until v12 is available for you as its that much better.
