I just received 2024.32.10 and I think it's the worst update I've ever gotten. Not only does FSD city mode jerk around like a teenager and stop at the slightest provocation but the highway mode is useless as well. On top of that, for some reason the "Exclude at Home" options don't seem to be working anymore.

After the update my door on my MX kept opening in my garage when I walked by. This is new behavior and I finally had to turn that feature off. Maybe its because I have a "legacy" MX but this is really annoying.

I've turned the "Exclude at Home" option on and off as well as rebooted the entertainment system. Nothing makes it better; my car keeps trying to trap me when I enter the garage. :(

I just discovered that this update broke my Solitaire game! Technically, I think it broke any browser based activity but I generally only play games. :D

Anyway, launching the game just causes it to immediately fail and take me back to the games list. The only way I was able to get the game to launch was to open another, non browser based game, close that game, and then launch Solitaire. Grrrr....

Very disappointed with this version as well. Didn’t stop for a pedestrian, moved forward while a car was backing up in front of me. Didn’t wait while a car was doing a 3 point turn. It’s city driving so not easy, but after trying Waymo, FSD needs a lot of work. I hope Tesla can get there.

Looks like just about EVERYONE has this last update, so maybe another version is getting ready to drop this week? Hope so.
I really hope so!

My biggest complaints are when other vehicles I am passing, even slightly veer from their lane, my car freaks out and starts tapping the breaks, occasionally hard breaking on the freeway at 75 mph!

It’s also afraid of its own shadow! For no reason at all, it slows down or starts tapping the breaks!

It changes to an adjacent lane which clearly has a fast car approaching in that lane making me look like a jerk only to go 2 mph faster then it was!

It has a big problem with staging ( setting up for an upcoming turn or exit.) It waits until 0.2 miles to get in the appropriate lane, squeezing in when it could have done it .5 or even 1.0 miles, when it was wide open to do so on the freeway!

Ok enough ranting for today 🤪

On: v12.5.4.1

OMG - YES! Both of these things are currently preventing me from even trying FSD right now.

This happens to me as well. When I first got this version I tried a longer trip that involved getting onto the expressway and it had me in the far left lane until the very last minute. There was quite a bit of traffic but the car made it's way across 3 lanes of traffic to merge onto the freeway ... somehow!? It was NOT fun though. 😱

I have to say that I'm very surprised that Tesla would push out 2024.32.10 (with 12.5.4.1) as widely as they have.

This may be the worst example of FSD that I've seen. Inability to drive "rationally" when around other vehicles and phantom braking are this release's core competencies.

I’m wondering if this release was for hw3 only. Looks like hw4 people skipped this one and got 5.5 and 5.6 instead?

It looks like there are some HW4 cars getting the release, maybe these hadn't yet been upgraded from FSD 12.3.6.

But, yeah, most of the vehicles being upgraded with this release are HW3.

I'm getting happier with FSD 12.5.4.1 the more I use it. It's different, which always leads to a learning curve. I use it in the hope that it is safer than me driving, which it should be considering how slow it tends to go.

The first test drive I had, the car looked like it was going to run a red light. Later, on the same road, it tried to go straight into oncoming lanes when the road split and the car should have veered right. And another time the car once again tried to run that same red light.

But since it never did any of that elsewhere, I've concluded that there is some mapping issue that makes FSD think it must be on a road parallel to the actual road, and thus no red light in its path. The lane change incident (which only happened once out of a dozen trips there) was also probably related to a mapping issue.

And that brings up a point to consider - is an FSD failure really FSD's fault, or a mapping fault?

Now I'm in a HW4 Model Y, and I've not seen braking for green lights, or failure to yield to pedestrians. I have seen plenty of poor lane change planning decisions, for which I'm really wanting FSD 12.5.6..

I wonder how many of the issues I've experienced are due to the HW. I'm driving a HW3 Model Y (March 2023).

Is it possible that Tesla screwed up and now we'll find that FSD won't ever work "properly" (coherently and smoothly) with the v12 FSD system on HW3?

Having had much better releases I know Tesla fsd can fix this and hope to see it very very soon.

I've got to agree with the consensus that this release on HW3 2023 MY is not an improvement in many ways. Last March on my second FSD ride 12.3 took me 135 miles, out a leaf covered dirt driveway, on highway and rural roads, finishing up on two dirt roads to get me to my destination. I only had to encourage it to go faster in a couple places where the roads were inadequately marked (10MPH at toll booth with no ramp speed limit sign beyond). On my way home it drove me cautiously away from that destination down that dirt road with a fresh unplowed, un tracked, snow cover. 12.5.4.1 has tried to drive through a large barrier gate at speed multiple times, refuses to consider the dirt roads and has trouble with an unmarked paved road with leaves. It drifted into the inner lane in a traffic circle with traffic already there, failed to slow down for stopped highway traffic and despite me trying to slow without panic nearly caused an accident 3 cars behind. When it made a mistake choosing lanes (exit ramp, two lanes, I was turning right) and to its credit committed to its mistake and turned left. It then went on a journey to find its way back on track that included driving though a gas station/convenience store parking lot. It also failed to detect a bicycle with lights on a railroad overpass at night. I've also had the doesn't go at a green light and the skittishness/ braking when it feels threatened by cars doing their think in an adjacent lane on the highway. It once tried to run a light that had turned red with plenty of time to stop. It also sees speed bumps everywhere shadows from the now lower sun shines thru trees that are missing their leaves. No one has mentioned but it almost always accelerates on a new road way too aggressively to a speed higher than it even wants to drive then slows back down. I also had it try to aggressively get onto an off ramp (highway speed) at the last minute when navigation was saying we wanted the exit hundreds if not thousands of feet beyond. Just as I was about to stop its already half completed lane departure it decided it was making a mistake and aggressively returned to the highway lane. I would think a big part of these free FSD periods was to get not only owners but their friends to experience the feature. I haven't been asking friends if they want a ride since the update...
