This should be interesting. Qi ++ Max standard for EVs? Two things (the same things as always) I see that need to be overcome - Cost & efficiency. Oh, I suppose a third would be a standard interface. Good luck, this will be fantastic. Imagine just parking at a destination and getting a nice bump in battery with no effort. Maybe we could use the charging coils to melt and ICEing vehicles too.

This is actually a pretty interesting proposition. If (and that's a big IF) they can get the costs under control then it might become a standard to put charging coils in all (most ... some) parking spots. That way you remove the ICEing completely and no one has to even think about it anymore. Just pull in, park, and get out.

I wonder if the Plug N Charge standard has a field for vendor ID (or merchant or whatever)? That way the car pays the bill but a portion of it goes to the merchant who owns that parking spot.
