Thanks for that explanation. Would a solid state battery have a similar form factor to the current batteries? I've also seen reports on Sodium-ion batteries being promising tech. The rub there is that the manufacturing plants currently used for Lithium wouldn't be easily converted to Sodium. So a lot of $$ to set up a factory again .
Also- I was hoping for a brief history lesson on all the battery sizes & chemistries that Tesla has gone through so far . There's more to the battery than just the physical dimensions. Last I heard there were at least 14 or so different battery types and that was a few years ago. There have been changes inside that matter, just like my '24 Y is a much better car than the '20 I traded in for it. You might not know that looking at the outside.
