Rivian and the NACS (North American Charging Standard)

Oh, darn, I didn't think about that. Where is the Rivian charge port? Hopefully it's somewhere accessible. Then again, maybe the new v4 Supercharger stations will have longer cables. And/Or the "Rivian" Supercharger stations could be reworked a bit to allow for trailers and such. A "normal"...

Rivian and the NACS (North American Charging Standard)

Watching MKBHD talk about the Rivian R1S this morning I noticed that he mentioned that Rivian is really coming along; building trucks, building SUVs, and building out their charging network. At that moment I wished that Rivian had partnered with Tesla to use the NACS (re: Tesla connector). It...

Discuss: 2023.12 Official Tesla Release Notes

I can't wait for a larger font size! I'm tired of squinting at the temperature (or radio) to get the valuable information I need to live my life. Seriously though, My 2020 MY is still on 2023.2.12 - when am I gonna get an upgrade?!?!?!

Discuss: Tesla Gears Up to Launch Powerwall 3: A Sleeker, More Efficient Home Battery

I think it would be interesting if the form factor changed from a "wall" to a more of a cuboid. If it was weatherproof, then you could install it outside on a pad, similar to an A/C condenser.

Discuss: Exclusive: Tesla's Model 3, Project Highland Exposed: What’s Changing

This seems like a pretty good update. The only part I don't care for is the removal of the temperature sensor; I'm not sure what it costs but it can't be that expensive. :(

    More readable screen fonts.

I would love a couple of points increase in the font size. It would also be helpful to change the font color from dark grey on light grey background. 😆

Discuss: Tesla Improves Safety by Enhancing Automatic Emergency Braking

I just want to say that I've enjoyed the auto turn signal canceling feature much more than I would have ever expected. :)

Discuss: Tesla to Add Low, High and Auto Settings to Its Heated Steering Wheel in Update

As an early MY owner, I wonder if it's possible to retrofit a heated steering wheel into my 2020 car. I actually don't think I need a heated steering wheel (I've never had one) but I didn't miss heated seats until I had them either. :D

Discuss: Tesla Massively Reduces Prices. Here Are the New Prices and Why They Did It

At some point I want to purchase a MX. I can't afford a new one (even at these prices) but hopefully used prices will come down as a result of these price cuts. In fact, a week ago I was seeing 2 year old MY cars list for $60k which is more than what a new one costs today. 🤞

Discuss: Teslas Using Autopilot Are 10x Safer According to Latest Vehicle Safety Report

This report is good and I think I can agree with the results. I think most people forget how terrible human drivers are, yes even you sometimes. We all get tired, frustrated, bored, and distracted sometimes and we end up making mistakes. No, FSD/AP isn't perfect and yes it makes mistakes, but...

Discuss: Tesla to Remove Window Auto-Close Features Due to New Regulations

And we have to remember that no amount of rules and regulations will make cars (or any other complex machine) 100% safe is all circumstances. At some point you have to be responsible for your actions.

Discuss: Elon Announces FSD Beta V11.3 Will Be Released Soon

OMG! The rear view camera getting dirty is the bane of my existence. I can't see out of the back of my MY in the first place so that camera is doubly important. I've been thinking about trying to 3d print a hood or something for it. 😆

Discuss: Elon Announces FSD Beta V11.3 Will Be Released Soon

I've seen quite a bit of unhappiness over the auto-wiper situation. However, I've never had a problem with mine. They seem to work just fine and if they don't come on I just push the tip of the wiper stalk. I wonder if I'm doing something different than everyone else. Or maybe it just...

Discuss: Elon Announces FSD Beta V11.3 Will Be Released Soon

Does this mean that the non FSD stack will be updated as well to the new vision system? I'm getting tired of watching cars dance on my screen while I'm at a traffic light.

Discuss: Tesla to Remove Window Auto-Close Features Due to New Regulations

Yes, the "up" sensitivity seems to be pretty high. My windows will stop and roll back down if I go over a bump / pot-hole while rolling them up. It's kind of annoying, but if it saves a life it's worth it.

Discuss: Tesla to Remove Window Auto-Close Features Due to New Regulations

I think at one point they made sense, but not any more. Back in the day it was quite easy to roll a window up and smash fingers and arms. However, today's systems are so sophisticated that it's almost an impossibility today. Multiple systems would have to simultaneously fail in unique ways...

Discuss: Tesla to Remove Window Auto-Close Features Due to New Regulations

As far as I can tell this is a really old requirement (Jan 2017) and hasn't been updated since. Why is this coming up now? If I'm reading it rightly, this should/will affect many, many vehicles other than Tesla. Which car built in the last 5 years doesn't have one-push window close without...

Discuss: Terrifying Crash Demonstrates Tesla's Commitment to Safety

Wow, that Tesla at the bottom of the cliff is a sobering image. It's just one more reason that I love my MY; it's the safest car on the road.

Discuss: Tesla Rolls Out Its 2022 Holiday Update, Packed With New Features

I'm super happy with the GUI changes in this update. The 2021 Christmas update was ... ummm ... much less desirable and I was a little bit scared for this one. However, bringing back the "cards" was the right thing to do (IMHO) and I love the new mini music player. There are only two bugs...

leaving phone on charger by mistake...

When I first got my MY I left my phone on the charger and went into a store. Only after being in the store for several minutes did I realize what I had done. I nearly sprinted to the parking lot to retrieve my phone in a panic. Now, I just don't charge my phone in my car, unless I'm traveling...
