Discuss: Teslas Will Soon Park Themselves When Arriving at Destination - Smarter Summon and Driverless Autopark Coming Soon

Would be interesting to consider what happens: - if the car cannot find a parking, will it just go endlessly until stopped? - what happens in case of an accident? the car just stops and calls dadd... their parents for paperwork and removal? - whose fault is if somebody gets injured in the...

Discuss: Tesla to Eliminate the Steering Wheel Nag in FSD v12.4; Vehicles Supported and Release Date

The nag isn't THE problem in itself, but rather the requirement for applying torque to the steering wheel! Highlands have capacitive buttons now, why not leveraging them, as with any other top-tier car manufacturer (e.g. BMW, Merc)? You could drive hands on wheel all the time by keeping one...

At this rate we'll get it in Summer as well... any sighting of 2024.14 in Europe so far?

When does Autopark and Summon show up in Germany

Actually it wouldn't move sales an inch, everyone expects it to be already there, they just get disappointed after. Exact reason why Tesla don't care about it... and they can resist until other manufacturers approach in the rear view mirror, so not for long. It's like when you buy a BMW or...

    360 park assist

Exactly, this is where Tesla falls short big time. Now literally every car have 360° view and a front bumper camera to facilitate manual parking not to mention auto-parking not costing anything like 4 grands. After two M3LR, it's unlikely I'll get another Tesla if these basic need aren't...

    Software update wishlist

Yes it depends by the level of autonomy, but 160km/h is reasonable, 200-ish not so quite. 140 seems too limited, furthermore considering that it does 150 with ACC only...

    Disappearing Updates

Yes, this most likely happens when the update "stalls" and they pull an update out, as something must have gone wrong - so they prevent further propagation. At least this is what I was told 2 years ago, when I was still "chasing" updates. Relax, in few days you might get a newer version, as you...

Discuss: Tesla Lays Off Entire Supercharger Team as Musk Talks About the Future of Superchargers

It depends on which perspective you apply. Superchargers are differentiators, so much like the concept of closed network for Apple with iPhones, you would keep them for yourself. But that would relegate you to a niche. Tesla's mission is to accelerate the transition to renewable, sustainable...

Discuss: Tesla Lays Off Entire Supercharger Team as Musk Talks About the Future of Superchargers

Perhaps relying on network effects, having already established the widest charging network globally? Other car makers have to provide for themselves, too, and, in general, this is an infrastructure discussion, which should see governments involved, energy providers, not (just) car manufacturers...

Discuss: Tesla Brings New Autopark and High Fidelity Park Assist to Vehicles with Ultrasonic Sensors [Video]

I already commented on this: if they wanted to embark on such a bold move, they should have thought it out better. They used the same approach they would adopt on a software UI, only the steering wheel is hardware... a "real" recall is only a matter of when this time. It's not about "aids" as...

    Frustrating wiper controls.

I had auto wipers pretty much on any of the 7 cars in the last 20 years, almost never had to touch them, except when parking under trees during period when tree resin leaks. On my former and current M3, I'm driving with them permanently disabled to avoid them cracking by continuous false-starts...

Discuss: Tesla Brings New Autopark and High Fidelity Park Assist to Vehicles with Ultrasonic Sensors [Video]

Exactly, nonsense. But then they removed even the stalks, so - hey - there's the legendary tale of American Airlines saving gazillions by removing 2 olives from the on-board "complimentary" menu. If they could, they'd remove steering wheel, pedals and driver - oh that's actually their ultimate goal.

Discuss: Tesla Brings New Autopark and High Fidelity Park Assist to Vehicles with Ultrasonic Sensors [Video]

That's true genius. So, my previous M3 had USS. Obviously, the current Highland hasn't. Are they looking at selling USS as factory retrofit now? The whole concept behind Vision is flawed: that's precisely why you need USS/Radar/Lidar to overcome the limitations of sight, that's why aircraft fly...

Max Speed + annoying speed limit chime

I don't know if this is due to switching from a 2022 M3 to a 2024 Highland M3 or just a coincidence for switching in between software update, but... before I could activate autopilot, tap on the speed limit and it would go to max allowed speed (+tolerance). Now I have to scroll manually every...

Highland: guess driving direction at all times Fine when it selects D or R going out of a parking, but why not doing it at all times, since the interface is so poor? E.g. you brake to a car or an obstacle during a parking maneuvre, if should reverse.

Speed Limit confused by route signs... Huh!?!?

Does anyone know if audio report is only available in the US or with FSD? I tried plenty of times saying "Report", "Feedback", or "Bug report" as in this article but it never worked.

Agree. I didn't purchase EAP/FSD because they just don't make sense. Paying 3/8k€ for something that other car makers may not do in a fancy way as Tesla, but do at least consistently once you make the purchase, is absurd. All my previous cars could park by themselves for a fraction of the price...
