Precondition Battery Prompts

People often drive to charging stations in cold weather forgetting to precondition which doubles their charging times. Tesla should prompt folks with a "Precondition Battery for Charging?" prompt if the car battery is low AND a person appears to be heading to their usual charging station. This is a driver behavioral pattern the vehicle is more than capable of sensing.

Air recirculation shortcut and improved AUTO operation
Seems so obvious. Why do we alhave all sorts of shortcuts but not air recirculation?
The air quality detection isn't always immediate, so manual intervention is required.

Just press right Bottom and say "recirculation" - can't get much easier.

If that was supposed to be funny, you failed miserably. It just comes out as dumb.

Why then having first-level shortcuts for mirrors? Seat heating? Apps opening? You could use voice for all of them.

Doesn't make sense as a solution. First, voice commands are meant to be aids, second they don't always work, there are all sorts of ridiculous jokes and satirical videos about them, and the best thing is that they are actually true. I almost stopped relying on them when I asked to raise the volume and it went instantly up to 100%, I ended up using them for mirror folding only, before getting the Knob. Also you might be on a phone call or in the middle of a conversation. So, again, why having first-level shortcuts for all sorts of bullshit, even games, and not recirculation, like any other car?

?? the following commands work in my Y, all listed in user manual

"Activate/deactivate the heating in the driver's seat"
"Enable recirculation"
"Fold side mirrors in/out"
"Open [Toybox/browser/cinema/phone]"

I actually just used "Turn on rear defroster" the other day. It was freezing cold out side and I had just got in the car and was navigating a tight parking lot and didn't have a lot of time or attention to spare. The voice command worked wonderfully and helped me out quite a bit.

To be honest, a physically button would also have worked, but I really don't want to go back to having to push different buttons all over the dashboard for each function. Especially functions that I only use a couple of times a year.

Re-read. I listed a few random functions that are available as 1-st level dashboard shortcuts on our Teslas and simply tried to make you reason that their presence is of equal importance as air recirculation, even just for a parallel with a standard car dashboard. Which makes your comment about voice commands pointless.

This is the point. Air recirculation isn't a feature you activate a couple of times a year, such as a defroster. Albeit a defroster is more of a security feature than anything, so good having it redundant all over the place.

Highland startup
Hard to tell if this is a bugfixing or a "new" feature... fixing a bug. No, hell no, this is a bugfix.

I just wrote "I think Commander could fix something that drivers me crazy about the Highland." to Enhance.

Pre-highland, I would press the brake, buckle up, set the D/R gear and the car would start, just waiting for the accelerator pedal to be pressed to get going.

Now, things got mad. I press the brake, buckle up and... guess what? I must to depress the brake, press it again so that the car can set the gear (D/R based on whatever flawed logic Tesla set, but that's nothing Enhance can fix). It's like a stubborn engineer got distracted by an overzealous lawyer, or viceversa for adjectives.

Once brake is pressed and driver buckles up, why not the hell just set D/R, according to the aforementioned flawed logic, whatever that is? Why does it have to be just the brake pedal to be the trigger and not either the brake pedal OR the buckle, provided that both must be simultaneously engaged?

These are the things that drive me mad, when they can have cars driving by themselves, fly to Mars, but they can't just get such simple use cases straight.

Reserve trunk opening on comeback
I just realized that UWB trunk/frunk opening is nice but... not so nice.
It would be more effective if we could "reserve" that the trunk/frunk open when the mobile is again connected to the car ("on comeback").
This could be done either:
- via voice command "hey X, open the trunk when I'm back"
- with a tap on the app, considering we all tap on the aircon button some time before we get to the car, to find it already at temperature, whatever is the outside temperature (right?)

Similar to what Enhance offer with their Presenting Trunk feature on door press, which is basically the same as the above, only requiring a physical interaction before leaving the car.

But otherwise, UWB trunk/frunk opening would be eclipsed by this, both for ease of use and safety, and because... you don't need UWB for this.

1. Don't unfold mirrors when I unlock the car at an unsaved location, instead, do this when I go into Drive/Reverse.

2. Don't tilt down folded mirrors at a saved location, this is completely pointless.

3. Automatically "shutdown" after some time of being parked and unplugged or if plugged in and at the charge limit and if sentry mode, security and cabin overheat protection are all off (6, 12 or 24 hours?) and anything else like that (camp/dog modes, etc) or an option to enable automatic shutdown which would just override the previously mention features which require a powered on car. (never override dog mode!) I lose 1% per day when the car is asleep but I only lose 0.2% per day when it is "shutdown". Still wake up for scheduled events. Imagine how much electricity and battery wear this would save for everyone in total!

4. Mark a center point for the energy bar on the left side of the screen. (input/output level)

5. Location based charge limit. (Top up a little extra when at work with free charging that you can use to drive home with, for example)

6. Location based HVAC on/off state and temperature separately. Great for when you start early in the cold morning in your garage vs later in the hot day sitting under the sun in a parking lot.

7. If the cabin is hot (or going to be hot if the clouds clear) and battery runs empty while dog mode is on then crack the windows.

8. Option to NOT turn on blind spot camera when I am moving very slow and turning at an intersection. (as opposed to when I need it like lane changes)

9. Media volume based on vehicle speed.

10. Reach the charge limit at the next scheduled precondition time if within 24 hours. This is the most efficient use of energy when the battery needs to be heated for charging and the manual even mentions this yet they haven't automatically implemented it. Similar to "Schedule a charge target" as K.I.T.T. said but it's fully automated and you don't have to think about it. It could compliment his idea as well.

11. Ability to "Vent" windows from car. Why can we only do this from the app?

22. Camp Mode: Stealth Camp Mode, turn off screen, fans low and try to minimize other sounds and lights.

13. Precondition schedules could separate out the options of which you could enable or disable for "warm/cool battery", "warm cabin" or "cool cabin (With AC or just vent windows)".

14. Allow setting departure energy from vehicle, can do this from the app already.

15. Dog mode can optionally not use AC or heat if ambient temperature is within "acceptable" range for animal. Ability to set this range depending on your pet. Rename it "Pet mode" at this point.

16. TACC can try to use an ascent to decelerate and an descent to accelerate, if the situation arises. Use navigation when possible to predict usage potential. This leads to greater efficiency.

17. Always show limited regen "squares" on the energy bar, even with "Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited" enabled. Show red squres for these, or hollow, or something, see next item.

18. Don't show green for the friction brake usage when "Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited" is enabled, show red instead which goes over previously mentioned squares.

19. Option to show "Projected range" next to the battery instead of the "max hypothetical" range.

20. Built-in "Lifetime" trip that cannot be reset which shows stats of the entire life of the car. (including total driving time, total driving power usage AND total net power usage which includes park as well as drive)

21. Interface on screen to control foot vents.

22. Rename "Joe Mode" to a more rational, clearly descriptive name for what it is. Sorry Joe. Call it "Driver Localized Alerts" or "Localize Alerts To Driver"?

23. Allow "Arrival energy" to be set to increments of 1% instead of blocks of 5%.

24. Allow schedules to be set to specific minute instead of blocks of 15 minutes.

25. "Stay Time" per waypoint: I saw a video of a guy on a roadtrip, he said it showed he will arrive at the next supercharger (after his hotel) at 20% but can't plugin overnight and battery got cold so in the morning the arrival SOC estimate dropped by 10%. This feature would account for how long you would be staying at a destination, the ambient temperature and assume you are going to leave the car parked and off accounting for battery temp changes. It could even automatically prompt if you add a hotel or similar to a waypoint "Will you be staying the night?", otherwise can manually be set with specific length of time.

I tried to not include any duplicates here already in this thread. I drive a 2021 Model Y LR AWD.

Bonus tip: Keep some little candles in your car in cold climates. If you get stuck and it's cold and you don't have much battery you can light some candles to create plenty of heat in your cabin, just practice fire safety. This is a last resort option!

Autopilot in Europe (write this because don't know if it's the same way in US) - when engaged there is this rainbow waterfall ll the time.
During the day it may be annoying, dureíng the night it is simply dangerous - so much light when the display should be dimmed as much as possible.
IMHOthis rainbow street on the displaz is a direct violation of usabilitz & distraction rules.

You can disable the rainbow autopilot function in the menu where all the other gimmics like boombox, lightshow etc are

Exactly, that was even supposed to be an hidden easter egg at the beginning. And isn't that off by default?

What's dangerous at night is the behavior of the automatic headlights after flashing at cars, as previously described.
Curious to read if the experience in the US is the same as in the EU or is it just an unnoticed quirkiness of the implementation for the "old continent".
