Parental Controls
With Tesla vehicle update 2024.26 and higher, Tesla is supporting new parental control features that let you limit certain features in the vehicle such as acceleration and maximum speed.
There are also additional options to receive notifications if the vehicle is driven outside of curfew hours and to prevent safety features from being turned off.
With this app update, you'll be able to control the parental controls from the vehicle or from the Tesla app. Parental control features require car update 2024.26+ and app update 4.35.0+.
Does Not Wake Vehicle
To conserve the vehicle's battery, the app only wakes it when you send a command.
Editorial note: When you open the Tesla app, the app will no longer try to wake up the vehicle. Instead, it will show the vehicle's information with an "Asleep for X hours" label.
If you send a command to the vehicle or pull down to refresh, then the vehicle will be woken up. If the vehicle is already awake when you open the app, then the vehicle's current status will be shown and you'll see whether the vehicle is parked or driving.
Request Data
Tesla has added a new 'Request Data' option to the Security & Privacy section of the Tesla app. This new option replaces the previous 'Data & Privacy' choice.
Request Data takes you to a different section of Tesla's site where you're able to request data for a specific vehicle and dates.
There are also other choices to correct data, adjust your communication preferences or delete your account.
