With Tesla car update 2024.14 or higher, the app will now display the FSD version at the bottom of the app.

Tesla has slowly been adding more software version information to the app. It now displays:

V12 - The vehicle's software version, which is only incremented with large user interface changes. Think of this like Windows 11

2024.14.6 - The vehicle's specific update version

FSD 12.3.6 - FSD version number

The source code of this app update makes new references to Summon v2, according to X user Olympus, who decompiled the app.

According to Olympus, v2 stands for the second version of the Summon interface, meaning that we may see a completely new interface with Tesla's upcoming 'Actually Smart Summon' feature.

The app also references a variable called "supportSummonPreWarming," which sounds like an improved version of today's Summon Standby feature today that keeps the vehicle awake so that you can summon it later without waiting for the vehicle to wake up and initialize Summon.

FSD v12.4 is expected sometime next week, but the new Smart Summon feature which will be available to all vehicles isn't expected until v12.5 or v12.6 when Tesla starts tackling the ability to reverse.

The default option is Any Electric Vehicle, but you can also limit it to Tesla vehicles or only specific vehicles.

If you choose specific vehicles then Tesla will display a list of vehicles already associated with your Tesla account that you can pick from, but you can also add additional vehicles via their VIN.

There is also a "Compatibility Mode" that increases compatibility with some non-Tesla vehicles.

To set up the new Access Controls go to the app's Energy screen where it shows your Wall Connector then tap on Settings. From Settings tap on Vehicle Charging then Access Control.

This is expected to be similar for the Cybertruck Foundation Series, the upcoming Model 3 Ludicrous and possibly older special edition vehicles as well, such as the Signature series.

Tesla recently redesigned the Supercharger session screen in v4.32.0. To access the Supercharging sessions tap on the main menu then Charging and then View Details or History to view previous sessions.

Since first rolling out Sentry Mode several years ago, Tesla has made constant improvements to the feature.

Some of the latest improvements have included being able to view live cameras, reducing the headlights to a pulse, turning off Sentry Mode sounds, adjusting the video clip length and more.

However, it seems like we may be in for one of the biggest Sentry Mode improvements since the feature was introduced back in 2019.

The Tesla app will not only send you notifications of a potential intrusion when Sentry Mode is active but will also show you a video of the incident.

Although the feature isn't live yet, there is now underlying code in the app to support the feature and Tesla officially announced it on X. It looks like the feature may be ready to go and just needs to be remotely enabled by Tesla.

You'll be able to view Sentry Mode recording previews by navigating to the Security & Drivers section of the app and tapping on "Sentry Mode Recording Previews."

Tesla makes it clear that the entire event won't be included, but instead a shorter preview clip, presumably when the incident occurred.

Tesla is clear to say that preview videos are end-to-end encrypted and can't be accessed by Tesla.

Although Sentry Mode captures video from various cameras, it does not include video from the cabin camera, making privacy less of an issue. Tesla says that this feature's availability will vary by country.

Last year, Tesla created an official API program so that users could grant developers access to their energy or vehicle data.

With this data, developers could create official third-party apps that offer a variety of features.

Users could already log in to the Tesla website to see and manage developer access.

However, with this update, Tesla is now starting to display this information in the app. Starting with their Energy division, Tesla is now showing any developers that you have granted access to.

Vehicle data access is not being shown yet, and users aren't able to manage developer access in the app yet like they can on the website, but those features are likely coming in a future revision.
