Key Cards
Tesla has redesigned the Security & Drivers section. Instead of a large image at the top, there is now a list of each feature.
Tesla has also added the ability to reset your phone key or add a new key card using the app.
Commemorative Cards
With this update Tesla hints at an upcoming release of commemorative cards. These could be collectible cards or achievements for performing certain actions or reaching specific vehicle milestones, such as driving 50,000 miles or using pre-conditioning for the first time.
The outline of the cards was discovered in the app's source code by Tesla_App_iOS. They reveal that there will be rare variants (gold) and regular versions of each card, although it doesn't offer any hints at what will be featured on each card. It could feature specific Tesla products or special achievement logos similar to Apple's fitness badges on Apple Watch.
However, the images are only in Chinese, so it's not clear whether this feature would be exclusive to China.
Improved Phone Key
Some users have recently been prompted to allow the Tesla app to access their motion and fitness activity. According to Tesla's app product manager, this allows the app to more readily know when the phone is moved, instead of relying solely on location.
If your living space is near where your vehicle is parked, this can reduce unexpected unlocking of the vehicle due to proximity.
