Slick. While I am not a big fan of the light bar in front and some other cosmetic things this looks like a nice bump. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what arrives here in the US as far as color options and stalks. Here’s hoping the improved range and charging speed make it here!

Tesla says they have listened to customer feedback and added a precision-engineered turn signal stalk.

They must be joking. I had to buy one. If they listened carefully, they should propose a free retrofit to all the scammed Highland owners.

I agree with a lot of changes that Tesla has made in the past, but I think removing the turn signal stalk was a mistake. Sure, a ton of things in cars today are just a holdover from yesteryear and we could do better. But turn signals are such a burned in function that they are really missed when they are gone. It seems analogous to removing the steering wheel; if/when that can be removed then you can probably remove the turn signal stalks, but not before.

Then again, I could be wrong. I've never owned or even driven a car without turn signals so maybe I'm just the same as people that have never owned a EV. They spout all kinds of nonsense about door locks and keys and "starting" the car and engine noise.

I suggest trying it for yourself. Takes months to get it right. Then for which reason?

We have a highland 3 and the turn signal thing is no big deal. Remember when you had to look at the screen for your current speed vs having a speedo in front of you? It took about that long. But whatever, stalks, no Stalks, whatever gets the world to move on and talk about stuff that matters.
Some of the interesting things I’ve seen about the new Y that aren’t widely discussed-
First the T on the hood seems to be there in some images and not there in others.
Second the glass roof of the car has apparently gotten better by a factor of 7 when it comes to ‘insulating’ heat transfer because of some silver coating.
Third the overall coefficient of drag dropped .01 which is always welcome.
Besides the turn signal fixation I haven’t see too much more discussed with this model. Just the highland upgrades being moved over although there are some door speakers the 3 doesn’t have. Powered rear folding seats and powered frunk. Wheels get mentioned, I’d like to see the 19” without the covers as I could see them being Gemini wheels under them.
Oh, the frunk now has a drain plug.
It would take a lottery win for me to really consider ditching my ‘24 Y for a new one. Actually, if I won the lottery I’d prolly get a LR S.
Speaking of the S, that car is due for another refresh, right?

That's actually pretty comforting that people don't really have a problem with the no turn-signal stalks thing. I was thinking that it would be a deal breaker for me, but as @PrescottAZRichard pointed out, the speedometer thing literally took me <100 miles to get used to. Nice!

I had not heard about those new MY updates. Drain plug in the frunk? Yes, please! Powered frunk!?! OMG! YES! :)

I’ve seen speculation on the Frunk, so that’s not ‘confirmed’ and who knows what we’ll get here in the states. Sure hope the re-tooling goes quickly.
Just saw a vid that was over my head saying the gen 2 4680s were a little more energy dense (like 11% if I understood) so that’ll be nice too. Here’s hoping I get that winning lottery ticket :) .

I'm not commenting on the other features of the MY because I don't like SUVs of any kind. So, good to see them, but unless the highland is getting a refresh anytime soon...

Easy to say, we don't know how regularly you used to use them. As a regular user, I found the placement quite illogical and at the beginning I was flashing at cars instead of putting the right arrow. Much less swapping the left with the right.

Now I'm driving with the thumb almost always already ready in place.

But nevertheless, pointless discussing it, they clearly admitted it was stupid removing them... by reintroducing them.

I'm more interested in the reconfigurable steering wheel buttons than anything. And in seeing the Highland owners reactions once they deliver the new MY. "Class action" on the way...

But whatever, stalks, no Stalks, whatever gets the world to move on and talk about stuff that matters.

If I won the lottery, I would buy a Maserati Folgore. Tesla produces nothing but mid-range premium cars. Good for the novelty effect, opened up the segment, but luxury is another thing.

You must try it for yourself.
There are two kind of drivers: who regularly use the signals (at every lane switch and turn) and who barely do, not even to signal that the car is starting or merging.
Guess which category wouldn't complain?
