Interesting stuff indeed. From my experience (here in the USA) I think my Y knows its footprint and place in the world better than the car lets on. That is, when parking it'll adjust pull forward and line up better when it doesn't need to to avoid curbs or other vehicles. So right now it is being extra cautious. It is certainly better at knowing where curbs are out the passenger side rear of the car!
