I thought 800v was more expensive for some reason, there *must* be a downside to it right? That ether loop information was new to me, that sounds very useful. It would be nice to have the car say - your front left turn indicator is out, when that happens. Little stuff like that.
I am guessing 4 wheel steering is something that like the steel exoskeleton- useful on the big truck type vehicles.

For me, the Cybertruck was mostly a swing and a miss. However, the technical aspects of it are pretty solid and I'm looking forward to future Tesla vehicles incorporating them.
  • 48v is HUGE and I can't imagine that other manufactures would not upgrade their cars, even ICE vehicles.
  • 800v is not more expensive but it really wasn't worth it, at least early on. The capacity to charge such high voltages just wasn't available.
  • Steer-by-Wire is a natural progression after electric assisted steering. It's almost more simple to do this than to keep engineering traditional steering mechanisms.
  • Rear Wheel Steering seems to be a bit more targeted at larger vehicles. I don't think you need it nearly as much in a small car.
  • V2H is a no brainer and probably pretty easy to do. The specifications are already written and it's pretty well known how to do it. There's not much hurdles here.

Absolutely, would love to see other vehicles with Cybertruck tech. It's part of what the Cybertruck is so enticing.
