Discuss: Tesla's New 'Preferred Routes' Doesn't Require the Summer Update

I wish it took time-of-day into account. I have a couple of routes home and choosing the best one depends on the day and time. One route goes through a school zone, which I like to avoid during the week in the afternoons. Another route passes by a church with is busy on Sunday mornings.

Discuss: Tesla FSD V14 Lite Coming Soon to Model S and Model X

No, this update is targeting legacy (pre 2021) MS & MX vehicles with HW3 computers. Current MS & MX vehicles get the full v14 release.

How does Rivian's mobile app compare to Tesla's?

Yes, they totaled it out pretty quickly. The guy that hit me had USAA insurance and the process couldn't have been smoother. I sent them an edited (shortened) clip from the front camera showing that I had a green light for 3 seconds before I entered the intersection and the USAA agent...

How does Rivian's mobile app compare to Tesla's?

@PrescottAZRichard, yes I thought about posting to TMC, but that community is so large and haphazard that it just feels a bit ... overwhelming. This community is much more personable and friendly and I don't seem much of this type of discussion so I thought it would be good to chat about. And...

How does Rivian's mobile app compare to Tesla's?

With the supply of used R1S vehicles is getting more plentiful and affordable I am wondering how their software stacks up. I've test driven a Rivian several times but you can't really get a feel for the software in that short amount of time. Are there any Rivian owners here that can comment...

Discuss: Tesla HW3 Computers Are Overheating on FSD V14 Lite

I think that a major contributing factor to the failures/overheating are issues with the cars coolant system. If everything is perfect (no low coolant levels, no air in the system, etc.) then v14-lite probably works OK. However, as the article states, if there are preexisting issues with the...

Discuss: How the Rivian R2 Compares to the Model Y in Efficiency

I don't think I'm super surprised at the numbers the R2 is posting. Having test driven one a coupe of weeks ago I can confirm that it is a great vehicle, for a certain use case, but it is an aerodynamic brick. I don't think that I would really consider an R2 (or any Rivian) as a cross country...

Discuss: Tesla's 2026.26 Summer Update Lets You Video Conference on Google Meet, Teams & Discord

I would really like it if they had an app store. And I'm talking about a real app store that has hard requirements. Or maybe authorize some independent development teams to build apps. Since this is a pretty sensitive environment I'm trying to keep out the "rifraf" of apps. We don't need...

Discuss: Tesla to Make Design and Software for Model S and Model X Open Source

This is extremely good news for us. These documents will make it much easier to produce new and replacement parts for our beloved MS / MX vehicles. It would be really cool if we could reverse engineer the interior ambient lighting on the Signature models so they would work on the refresh...

Discuss: Tesla's Summer Update (2026.26) Release Notes

The welcome animations look interesting. The first time I saw this feature was when I was watching a Signature Model X review on YouTube. it was pretty cool but I wonder if you'll be able to provide your own animation.

Discuss: Tesla Announces Summer Update: Grok Vehicle Commands, Preferred Routes, Add Vehicle Wraps in App and More

I really like the "custom routes" feature. Every time I try to demo FSD to my Mother the route it takes to her home misses a right hand turn that saves 10 minutes of sitting in traffic. It's maddening and really takes away from the fact that FSD could really help her (if she bought a Tesla)...

Discuss: Tesla Launches FSD V14-Lite: First Impressions

It also has to do with the different size & shape of the screen. The legacy S/X vehicles have a portrait screen and the 3/Y vehicles have a landscape screen. I think that keeps us (S/X) owners from getting some of the more "simple" updates, such as the LARGE TEXT option. :(
